Cannabis use is criminalized in some Nordic countries and at the same time some countries are decriminalizing drug use. What does this mean for the user? Are the Nordic countries moving in the same or in different directions regarding this matter?
We warmly welcome you to discuss these topics at our seminar What´s the Nordic way concerning cannabis? Recent developments in control, policy and treatment 25 April 2018. The seminar will take place at the Nordic Culture Point (conference room Ting), Kaisaniemenkatu 9, Helsinki, in the afternoon (time to be announced).
The seminar provides an excellent opportunity to network over a cup of coffee and learn more about cannabis issues in the Nordics. The main topics of the seminar are:
- The current approach in the Nordic countries regarding use of cannabis and harmful consequences
- What is the current treatment for problematic cannabis use? Which groups receive treatment and who is potentially left out?
- What are the possibilities for collaboration between the criminal justice system, the police and the treatment systems?
- Are there upcoming policy changes in the Nordics?
The seminar is arranged by the Nordic Welfare Centre’s popular scientific website popNAD.com. Invited experts (to be announced) from different Nordic countries will discuss the above-mentioned cannabis issues. The seminar includes presentations, commentaries from experts and a panel discussion.
The seminar is aimed at researchers, students, policy makers, practitioners and others interested in these issues.
